How do you get started creating great work? Something you can be really proud of? It’s easy to get intimidated by companies who are putting out amazing products. There are a lot of great companies that make incredible products or offer amazing services and aspiring to be like them is admirable and gives us something to shoot for, but it can sometimes be daunting and demotivational.
When we start our companies we envision what it is we want to ultimately create, but it’s a long-term vision. So how do you get from where you are now to where you want to be?
The best way to create great work is to start, put it out into the world, get feedback and work on improving. It’s a continual process of improvement.
By not starting immediately, you miss out on a lot of personal growth and feedback.
This quote by the old chap Ralph Waldo Emerson sums it up quite nicely:
“That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do—not that the nature of the thing is changed, but that our power to do is increased.”
